For over twenty years, Zaha Hadid, the Iraqi-born, English-educated architect, has symbolized the vanguard of contemporary architecture. Although only a handful of her projects have been built - all to great acclaim - her continually new ideas stun the world of design with their commitment to revolutionary forms. As a result she is one of the most respected architects in the world, with an enormous following of students and practitioners, visionaries and designers. In this book - the first record of her entire career - Hadid’s vision of architecture is revealed: at once thrillingly dynamic and intensely thoughtful. She has been asked to countless international competitions, and won many, the most controversial being that for the Cardiff Opera House.
Zaha Hadid is the most famous woman architect in the world, and the first to win the Pritzker Prize. Having achieved international recognition through her striking images and design, the Iraqi-born, London-based architect is now of the profession's most sought-after figures. Her buildings are now appearing across the globe, from Europe to the United States, in China and Japan.

When we think of American architecture we think of the likes of Wright, Meier and Eisenman - in years to come one or more of the names in this book could well achieve that level of renown. 26 young architects or architectural practices are showcased here, not just the urban sophisticates of New York but creative types from less familiar municipalities like Milwaukee and Palo Alto. A total of 72 projects - mainly residential - are presented with clear plans, photos and English/German text, including Slade Architecture's literally dotty Pixel House, Miro Rivera Architects' reed-effect bridge and the industrial-effect houses of Richard Rosa.
YES IS MORE is the first monograph of its kind devoted exclusively to the trailblazing practice of BIG, a Copenhagenbased group of architects, designers and thinkers operating within the fields of architecture, urbanism, research and development. Unlike a classic architectural monograph, this book is more of a manifesto of popular culture, in which BIG s methods, means, processes and approach to the concept of architecture are revealed as being as unconventional, unexpected and result-producing as the world in which it exists, continually reaffirming its mission with a resounding YES.

"design models."

Książka "U źródeł modernizmu Józefa Rykwerta" (tłum. Ewa Klekot) to jedna z klasycznych pozycji kanonu publikacji z zakresu teorii i historii architektury.
Rykwert do perfekcji opanował sztukę tłumaczenia architektury europejskiej, a wokół architektonicznych fenomenów z lat 1660–1780 i z początków nowoczesności stworzył niezwykły obraz dwóch wieków historii, które prześledził z rzadko dziś spotykaną erudycją.
