HIP HOTELS: USA
For "Hip Hotels: USA", Herbert Ypma has taken to the road, travelling the length and breadth of that vast land in search of Highly Individual Places to stay. Every HIP hotel has its own unique character. It is timelessly stylish, it is attuned to its location in design, ethos and cuisine, and it achieves that subtle balance between attentiveness and discretion that marks the best of modern service. The natural magnificence of the US is stupendous.
HIP HOTELS: BUDGET
Hip Hotels: Budget. Doesn't that sound too good to be true? But true it is. All the ingredients that make a HIP HOTEL - fantasy, originality, style, location - are available at less than astronomical rates, if only you know where to look. No less surprising is that they are truly global in range. Urban or remote, historic or post-industrial, Sunset Boulevard or Australian outback: take your pick. These are hotels created by enthusiasts, and it shows.
BUILDING BRASILIA
An architect by training and an enthusiast of Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe, photographer Marcel Gautherot was close to an elite group of Brazilian modernist architects such as Oscar Niemeyer and Roberto Burle Marx. Aesthetic and political affinities made him Niemeyer’s photographer of choice, and Gautherot had privileged access to all stages of the building of Brasilia, Brazil’s new capital and a landmark of modernist architecture and urbanism.

ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF...
Dostępność:na zamowienie The appeal of this extraordinary book lies in its obsession with the details of the domestic interior, borne out in a wonderfully rich collection of pictures. These charming paintings and water-colours, mostly dating from 1770 to 1860 and coming from all over Europe, Russia and America, record with faithful accuracy the shape of a room, the pattern of a carpet, the furniture, pictures, fabrics and wall coverings, the hang of the curtains. The pictures find their place in a complete survey of domestic – and some more palatial – interiors portrayed in art from the ancient world to the late 19th century, and including works by Vermeer, Hogarth, Dürer, Degas and Vuillard.

ART DECO INTERIORS
ART DECO INTERIORS Decoration and Design Classics of the 1920s and 1930s By the time of the great Paris Exhibition of 1925, the idea that an interior and its furnishing should form a complete design - a 'total look' - dominated the thinking of both designers and their sophisticated clients. In the later 1920s and 1930s, whole studios were established, notably in France and the United States, to serve the needs of a design- and style-conscious middle class intent on showing off its newly refined taste for things modern and exotic: the richly lacquered screen, the tubular steel chair, the vivid geometric carpet.

MOROCCO MODERN

Some of the most talented and progressive architects and designers in the world are working in Morocco today. Their work is profoundly influenced by a deep-rooted veneration for the artisan traditions of the past, the centuries-old skills of the weavers, woodworkers and zillij masters.
