MAKING THE MODERN GARDEN
KOLOR I FARBA. 1001 pomysłów
Beckmann
Max Beckmann (1884-1950) found his central theme in the loneliness of the twentieth century man, threatened by catastrophe and torn between materialism and freedom of mind and spirit. His early pictures showed the influence of Impressionism, with a preponderance of biblical, historical, and allegorical themes. World War I made a deep impression on him: somewhere between Expressionism and Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity), the succinct forms and hard contours in his memorable paintings and graphic works showed man at the limit of physical and mental endurance. Later, the harshness and severity of his style softened and his colors became more radiant, but the monumentality remained.

SPA: BEAUTY, HEALTH & DESIGN
Spas are no longer a luxury item. Today they attract an ever-wider public including architects and interior designers, many of whom view these spaces as the new temples of the modern era. Far from being simply for hedonistic purposes, spas are often viewed as holistic health centres, where physical and mental health combine as the whole organism is encouraged to relax and cleanse.

LIVING NORMALLY
The antistyle bible for those who ignore makeover culture, "Living Normally" is an interiors book with a difference. Fifteen inhabitants of ordinary homes are given the chance to air their views on life at home today and to have the world come for a cuppa at their place. The results are a snapshot of Britain today and a refreshing reminder that a home should be a place to escape to; to feel happy in; and to live in. This affectionately photographed look at our everyday homes is a celebration of nice people, the modern family and our need to surround ourselves with memories and the curious ephemera of daily existence. Meet Evelyn, the lady who came from St Vincent and stayed because she loves the snow.
Nina Campbell Interiors
Nina Campbell is one of the world's most respected and influential interior designers. Her current projects include a large residence on mainland China, a private house for a member of the Jordanian royal family in Amman, a town house in New York and a country house hotel overlooking Cheltenham race course, and it is this broad range of commissions that makes Nina uniquely qualified to guide the home decorator. Nina Campbell Interiors focuses on introducing all-important detail into the home, whether in the form of texture, colour, lighting, art, flowers or other finishing touches.
