W ostatnich latach swoje prace prezentował w autorskich albumach fotograficznych, w tym: "Pałac Prezydencki w Warszawie", "Dolny Śląsk w fotografii lotniczej", "Szlak Cysterski na Dolnym Śląsku", "Śląsk Opolski w fotografii lotniczej". Prezentowany album jest plonem dwóch lat pracy w pałacu na dolnym Śląsku. Piotr Napierała opublikował kilkadziesiąt artykułów i kilka książek poświęconych konserwacji i ochronie zabytków, m.in. "Zamek Kliczków - historia i współczesność", "Pałac Paulinum", "Pałac w Wojanowie" oraz wspólnie z Wojciechem Kapałczyńskim "Zamki pałace i dwory Kotliny Jeleniogórskiej".
