Conferences of this type were launched in the year 1958 on the initiative of the Committee of Civil Engineering of Polish Academy of Science and the Committee of Metal Structures of the Polish Association of Civil Engineers and Technicians. On each of them, and thus on the current, a broad spectrum of the recent findings in the area of metal structures is presented.
Wstęp (Preface) : Due to the different durability of building structures, the 21st century has become a century of repair work and rehabilitation for construction. Along with the decreasing amount of area zoned for construction, the increase of such activities in inevitable. The world economic crisis continues to hold back new investments and, therefore, also contributes to this situation. Naturally aging building complexes and, unfortunately, more and more frequently new buildings as well, contain design or construction errors. It is best if the mistakes are noticed during the completion of objects, worse if they don't become noticeable until they are under exploitation.
