Begun in 2001 as part of the Rotterdam year as Cultural Capital of Europe, Archiprix invited international design institutes in the fields of architecture, urban planning, and landscape architecture to select and submit their best design projects. Workshops, databases and forums were then organised for the participants. The website www.archiprix.org played a central role in this international design phenomenon.
