UNSTUDIO
"design models."
KAHN LOUIS
Choć architekt Louis Isidore Kahn (1901-1974), którego monografię w serii „Basic Architecture Series” wydało kolońskie wydawnictwo Taschen, późno rozpoczął swą karierę, parę zaprojektowanych przez niego budynków stało się synonimem prawdziwej doskonałości i perfekcji.
WAGNER
The pioneer of Viennese Modernism One of Austria's most influentialarchitects, Otto Wagner (1841-1918) played a key role in modernizing urbanarchitecture. Forming an approach described as structural rationalism,Wagner pioneered use of materials such as glass, steel, and especiallyaluminum.
SAARINEN Serraino Pierluigi
Eero Saarinen 1910-1961 Sculptural structures "Each age must create its own architecture out of its own technology and one which is expressive of its own Zeitgeist—the spirit of the time". - Eero Saarinen Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) was one of the 20th century`s great visionaries, both in the fields of furniture design (he created the ubiquitous Knoll "Tulip" chairs and tables, for example) and in architecture. Among his greatest accomplishments are monuments that shaped architecture in postwar America and became icons in themselves: Washington D.C.'s Dulles International Airport, the very sculptural and fluid TWA terminal at JFK Airport in New York, and the 630-foot high "Gateway to the West," the Arch of St. Louis.
SCARPA
Carlo Scarpa (1906–1978) was never fully appreciated during his lifetime. Instead, his work was dismissed as being "just" art, and only after his death did people begin to understand the exceptional quality of his oeuvre. This book shows the development of his individual architectural language by linking aspects of the arts with architecture.
SCHAROUN BA
Outsider Modernizmu - Hans Scharoun German architect Hans Scharoun (1893-1972) studied and practiced architecture his entire adult life but did not build a major building until 1963 when his impressive Berlin Philharmonie finally came to life. The fact that he stayed in Germany during the Second World War prevented him from realizing grandiose projects and caused him to concentrate more on interiors than exteriors for many years. Nevertheless, Scharoun’s sculptural designs, influenced by the expressionist-utopian circle “Gläserne Kette” of which he was a member, did not go unnoticed and were among the best of his generation.
KAHN
Though Louis Isidore Kahn (1901–1974) started his career late in his life, the few projects he was able to undertake were realized to perfection. With the Jonas Salk Institute in La Jolla, California (1959–1965) Kahn created a workspace with superb functional and aesthetic qualities; the institute`s Minimalist elements radiate a sense of eternal beauty.
Iconic Building
Charles Jencks, the leading architectural critic and writer, takes on "trendiness" in architecture: namely the rise of the "iconic building," instantly famous and distinctively recognizable structures like Norman Foster's "Gherkin" in London or Daniel Libeskind's Ground Zero designs in New York. Although there have always been buildings built to be instant icons such as palaces and cathedrals, Jencks sees this latest trend as being fueled by the real estate industry's thirst for profit and architects' outsize egos. Since the debut of Gehry's Guggenheim Bilbao, a roster of international architects has created iconic buildings that court publicity and controversy in equal measure.
Mini houses
Wiele firm i marek tworzy rozwiązania i produkty dedykowane zwartym przestrzeniom
