Publikacja Stadion – miasto – kultura: Euro 2012 i przemiany kultury polskiej jest wynikiem projektu badawczego zrealizowanego przez Fundację Obserwatorium (2011) w ramach Programu Narodowego Centrum Kultury Obserwatorium Kultury. Projekt w latach 2012-2013 będzie kontynuowany przez Instytut Badań Przestrzeni Publicznej. Pogłębione badania zostały przeprowadzone w czterech miastach-organizatorach Mistrzostw Europy: Warszawie, Gdańsku, Wrocławiu i Poznaniu. Koncentrowały się na tym, jak „promieniowanie stadionowe” i symbolika sportowa wpływają na procesy kształtowania i rekonstruowania tożsamości lokalnej i narodowej. Badaczy interesowały również wyobrażenia społeczne i codzienna praca wyobraźni osób, które są na gorączkę stadionową skazane.
