Idea organizacji wystawy poświęconej nowej architekturze japońskiej i polskiej, zestawienie dokonań dwóch kultur, zwłaszcza w kilkanaście lat po ogłoszeniu przez Lecha Wałęsę entuzjastycznej chęci budowy „drugiej Japonii”, zdawała mi się nieco szalona. Dysproporcja generalnego rozwoju i poziomu architektury wydawała się nie do przezwyciężenia. Jednak wobec perswazji, jak i – przede wszystkim – przekonującej koncepcji inspiratora i kuratora wystawy, Krzysztofa Ingardena, a także last but not least dzięki niezwykle kulturalnej atmosferze Centrum „Manggha”, współpraca przy organizacji wystawy oraz towarzyszącego jej seminarium okazała się wielką przyjemnością.

In the present case this immediate relevance is not simply a matter of the fact that Brodsky has been chosen to represent Russia with a one-man show at this year's Venice Bien-nale.
