Śląska Kolej Górska, wiodąca u podnóża Sudetów, powstała w latach 1863–1867 na szlaku Görlitz/Węgliniec – Jelenia Góra – Wałbrzych. Architektura obiektów stacyjnych i drogowych obiektów inżynieryjnych szlaku stanowi jedno z wybitniejszych dzieł budownictwa kolejowego ówczesnej epoki. Górskie otoczenie miało wpływ na wyjątkową formę linii.
Competitions are among the most exciting occurrences in the field of architecture. It provides designers unique opportunities to pitch their work across the globe. This title features entries of different typologies for various individual competitions as well as today’s main contemporary architectural competitions. For these, like the planning for the grounds of the World Trade Center in New York, the most significant contributions are presented. Competition entries are the original architectural concepts, which usually on the way to becoming completed buildings are subject to many changes and compromises – and sometimes are not built at all.
