Losy Krystyny Roux-Dorlut nadają się na, co najmniej, dwie opowieści. Jedna o architekturze i druga o życiu kobiety, która wyrwała się z komunistycznego kraju do wolnego świata i potrafiła wykorzystać daną od losu szansę.
Urodziła się czwartego kwietnia 1926 roku w Żychlinie koło Łowicza. Po zakończeniu drugiej wojny światowej, w 1945 roku, zaczęła studia na Wydziale Architektury w Lublinie, a po roku mogła już studiować na Politechnice Warszawskiej. Trzy lata później wyjechała na stypendium do Paryża i tam kontynuowała edukację.
