Marian Bernard Wimmer (1897–1970) – to polski architekt, artysta, pedagog, organizator szkolnictwa artystycznego, teoretyk sztuki i architektury. 

Był jednym z założycieli Państwowej Wyższej Szkoły Filmowej, Telewizyjnej i Teatralnej w Łodzi. Książka zawiera jego nieopublikowaną wcześniej rozprawę oraz liczne komentarze analityków jego twórczości.     

Opracował własną metodykę nauczania zawodów plastycznych. Oprócz samej, wcześniej nie publikowanej pracy Wimmera książka zawiera teksty licznych komentatorów jego teorii.

The film depicts this society's grinding down of Daniel Brenner (Kurt Naumann), an idealistic architect in his late thirties.
