Dostępność: na zamówienie Some of the most telling moments of this film, a somber, finely-drawn portrait of life in East Berlin in the final days of the Communist regime, are long panning shots of the city's ugly, factory-like public housing. Shot from moving cars, these views of block after block of anonymous rectangular buildings evoke a joyless environment in which the imagination is systematically stifled and where people live in a state of chronic, low-grade depression. The film depicts this society's grinding down of Daniel Brenner (Kurt Naumann), an idealistic architect in his late thirties.
The Sketches Of Frank Gehry...
Dostępność: na zamówienie Film z polskimi napisami Bohaterem filmu jest amerykański architekt Frank Owen Gehry (właśc. Ephraim Goldberg), twórca m.in. Muzeum Guggenheima w Bilbao, Walt Disney Hall w Los Angeles czy Tańczącego Domu, znanego jako Ginger i Fred, w Pradze. Realizacja filmu trwała pięć lat. Obrawszy za punkt wyjścia pierwotne szkice, jakie Gehry wykonał do każdego ze swych monumentalnych dzieł, film bada proces, podczas którego architekt przeobraża abstrakcyjne szkice i trójwymiarowe modele, najczęściej wykonane ze skrawków kartonu i taśmy klejącej, w monumentalne budowle zbudowane z tytanu i szkła, betonu i stali, drewna i kamienia.
