Uffizi. Offices

108,15 zł Cena
Dostępność: na zamówienie "Offices" proposes a suggestive tour through some of the most recent and unique offices scattered throughout the world. This present volume includes an attractive selection of projects by some of the most prestigious contemporary architects, illustrated with quality full colour photography and detailed plans. The book offers the latest trends in the creation of new offices and traces the evolution of these working spaces. The conclusion is evident: the traditional boring grey office has given way to eclectic, avant-garde and efficient installations in which anything goes as long as they remain ”functional” and offer the best working conditions for the activity taking place.

Industrial Chic....

Dostępność: na zamówienie Disused industrial buildings can be profoundly beautiful, but as they don't make lots of money people tend to like making them, once more, productive members of our great society. Sometimes, of course, this process can be highly beneficial both aesthetically and socially.

SKIDMORE OWINGS & MERRIL

This monograph surveys thirty of the most iconic buildings designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the legendary American architecture firm, since its founding in 1936. Along with such architects as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier, SOM is largely credited with propagating the Internationalist style of architecture that filled the New York skyline with such midcentury masterworks as Lever House (1952) and Chase Manhattan Plaza (1961). Before the current age of the super skyscraper, SOM designed what was for almost thirty years the world's tallest building, Chicago's Sears Tower (1973), as well as the city's John Hancock Center (1970)

Other stations featured include the Santa Justa station in Seville by Antonio Cruz and Antonio Oritz, a station in Kyoto by Hiroshi Hara, the Lyon TGV Station by Santiago Calatrava, and the Arnhem Station by Dutch architects Ben von Berkel and Caroline Bos of UN Studio, one of the today's leading design firms.
