Renault Centre
Indeks: Renault Centre
A documentation of the Renault Centre (winner of four awards), describing how it was designed and engineered, using documentation from the Foster Associates' archives. The author argues that it is the first of a new breed of buildings in which computer-controlled technology is exploited to an unprecedented degree in the construction of a low-cost building. The building, designed by architect Sir Norman Foster is seen as a technical milestone in 20th century architecture and the augmentation of the text with a set of detailed technical drawings and fact-sheets enables the reader to see clearly how the building was fitted together.

The building, designed by architect Sir Norman Foster is seen as a technical milestone in 20th century architecture and the augmentation of the text with a set of detailed technical drawings and fact-sheets enables the reader to see clearly how the building was fitted together. The book is intended for the use of architects, engineers and students. The book is part of the "Architecture in Detail" series. The books do not carry a contents list. The common layout of the books in the series is: essay, photographs, specially commissioned drawings, reference details (bibliography and chronology). Each of these monographs is designed to be a complete and accurate archival record and intended to be the standard reference on that building for students and scholars as well as practising architects.

Extensions
DOSTĘPNOŚĆ: OBECNIE NIEDOSTĘPNA The vast majority of architects cut their teeth designing small-scale additions to private homes. Extensions can be added to roofs, gardens and underneath buildings or can even be strapped on to the sides.Following a brief introduction, the book is divided into chapters featuring 40 projects that extend spaces up, down, to the rear, to the side, on the roof, internally and outdoors. Each case study explains how the architects faced design challenges while at the same time meeting their clients' needs. Details covered include choice of materials, planning issues, time and cost. The book also raises issues that clients ought to consider when commissioning an architect to design an extension, from developing a brief to the finished product.

Building Community
This book explores contemporary apartments not as raw canvases for interior decoration but as a building type of growing significance. An introduction presents the history of multiple-occupancy housing through its most innovative 20th-century exemplars, from the urbane blocks of Auguste Perret and Henri Sauvage in Paris, to the landscaped housing estates of Weimar Germany and the visionary schemes of Le Corbusier. The heart of the book features 38 recent and ongoing projects, designed by leading international studios and rising talents. Buildings range from social housing and micro apartments to ‘vertical villages’, megastructures and luxury high-rises.

VERB CONDITIONING
The fourth issue of "Verb" looks at two related processes: the conditioning of architectural environments and the conditioning of behaviors. On the one hand, studies of luminosity, sound, atmosphere and temperature expand the range of techniques available to the discipline, allowing the production of ever more extensive effects with increasingly minimal means.

FAITH SPIRITUAL ARCHITECTURE
The role that religion has played in the development of art and architecture is unquestionable. The religious factor is as old as humanity itself and throughout history constructions have been erected with the aim of extolling the gods. Everyone has heard of examples such as the Egyptian or Aztec pyramids, the Christian cathedrals or mosques like the famous Blue Mosque. These are all examples of sacred buildings which also represent an undeniable artistic and architectural value. The construction of religious buildings seems to have been forgotten by the masses and replaced by other more modern and popular architectural typologies, such as public or corporate architecture.
